Super League’s Salford Red Devils have released a special edition jersey for the Dacia Magic Weekend in partnership with State of Mind.
In its six years of existence the charity, a valued client of JDG Sport, has made giant strides in raising awareness of the issue of mental health in sport, and the Red Devils are hoping this jersey will help deliver the message of State of Mind to a mass audience at the Magic Weekend.
The team will wear the specially designed shirt at St James Park, Newcastle, against the Leigh Centurions.
State of Mind Trustee Secretary Phil Cooper said: “We want to get people talking about it. Our team of mental health and sport professionals deliver comprehensive education sessions at no cost throughout the UK in Super League, Championship and amateur clubs as well as colleges and community groups, aimed at raising awareness of mental health issues within sport.”
The partnership fits in the with the Red Devils Foundation’s brand new mental health programme, which is being launched in partnership with State of Mind and Rugby League Cares, and aims to make support easily accessible to people in the local area.
Salford Red Devils CEO Ian Blease said: “Mental health is really poignant issue in rugby league at the moment and I’m really pleased that as a club we are able to help raise awareness for a fantastic charity.
“Raging Bull have done another superb job with the design and I’m sure it will prove popular with our supporters.”
